The Dallas Stars and AT&T Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, will host the NHL Stadium Series in the 2026-27 season, it was announced Monday, Nov. 3.
The game is slated for Feb. 20, 2027. An opponent for the Stars was not yet revealed.
It will mark the first hockey game played in the 80,000-plus-seat stadium, which opened in 2009 and is nicknamed ‘Jerry World’ after Cowboys owner and president Jerry Jones.
‘Hosting the NHL Stadium Series with the Dallas Stars is another great example of the vision we’ve always had for what AT&T Stadium could be beyond football,’ Jones said in a statement. ‘The game will be another proud moment for us and being able to provide a world class fan and team experience in partnership with two outstanding organizations, the NHL and the Stars, will be very special.’
Dallas has played in one outdoor game, when it hosted the Nashville Predators for the 2020 Winter Classic at the Cotton Bowl and won 4-2. AT&T Stadium has a retractable roof.
The Stars have reached the Western Conference finals in three consecutive seasons and have grown in popularity in Texas, drawing 85,630 fans to that 2020 outdoor game.
The 2025-26 Stadium Series game will see the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Boston Bruins on Feb. 1, 2026, at the Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, an outdoor venue.
